hello..is there any email widget which sounds when a new email has been sent? and if it is possible if there could be more than one email account...i have email to yahoo and gmail..ok i could run the same widget twice but i am interest for a widget with this function....now at the moment i use a widget called "three e-mails" and i am satisfied ..can i make it to sound every mail arrives?

send me your widget, maybe i can add this function to it

As I understand hamid he doesn't have any widget. He asks if there is any widget with this function or to create one..!

i understand from this that he has a widget for it and its name is "three e-mails";

the only thing that available in the core is "%Count"
So the only way you get the notification is when:
>count of emails changes (more or less)
>count of emails increases (only more)

i added both of them to decide yourself

>TrayBaloon
>Sound
>ConfirmBox

you can change them through right click menu

also you can change the "sound.wav" in the widget folder with your own wav file with the same name

i don't have any emails available right now to test it
but it should work ok.

i was harry to say it's ok... there has been a problem... the widget is ok and more than ok is as i said exactly what i want beacause i tried it to gmail and i was pleased but i noticed that the second email at yahoo was not loaded...i use other widget and the same result...i went to previous versio of xwidget the same... there didn't write how many emails i have to my mailbox of yahoo...i went to account settings but i hadn't changed anything so i think i didn't do anything bad...

this shouldn't be a problem with widget:
i have used same core of original widget,
so if it works for yahoo then this should work too.

problem should be one of these:

1. it might be a problem with xwidget core, maybe it doesn't support yahoo right now.
>could you use yahoo before in xwidget?

or

2. it might be a temporary problem with yahoo servers
>can you open your yahoo mail with browser?

or

3. you didn't configure it properly

if it is a configuration problem just i can recommend these to try:

1. in the settings Dialog for each of the mails there are two listboxs:
>First(Top) > [POP3 Server name]: for setting Server that should get emails from (this is important)
>>Second(Bottom) > [mail client or URL]: for setting url of mailServer to open it when you request to open it in browser (this is not needed by own widget, it's just for opening browser for you)

2. [POP3 Server name] that for yahoo available by default in the list is [pop.mail.yahoo.cn] and that is [.cn] means for [china], so if you're not in china or your email is not [@yahoo.cn] maybe you should use another POP3 Server name:
>try [pop.mail.yahoo.com] or anything else specified for your country
>>Search for correct yahoo pop3 server for your country in the net

3. note that [POP3 Server name] box is not only a dropdown list,
you can add your own server name to that box too,
so if your desired server not exist in the list, type it in the box

to answer to your questions...first i know it isn't problem of widget i tried it with another widget also... i could say that until 2 days ago i was receiving emails info from yahoo from xwidget... yes i can use yahoo mail from my browser... i put the same setting as the previous widget... the settings are for POP3 Server name because my mail is @yahoo.gr i put "pop.mail.yahoo.gr" and at the Mail client or URL i put "http://mail.google.gr/" my username without @yahoo.gr and not capital and password

also try these:

1. "pop.mail.yahoo.com": this is the main server of yahoo, maybe it works.

2. do you try with one mail running or more?
>try only with one mail running, also make sure one email widget is running.

no i couldn't fix the matter...i sent email to yahoo maybe they would know something but no luck... itried many different settings no result always shows -- at the mail

as you see yahoo told you to use full email address as username (username@domain.com)
but you told before that you used only username for login.
so try these first:
username@yahoo.com
username@yahoo.gr

i don't know what you should exactly do about it;
but for some applications i see that you can use port like this in urlbar: [domain.com:port]
ex: pop.mail.yahoo.com:995

but i don't know if this is supported for all applications
and also i don't know if it is supported by xwidget.

i don't know that xwidget uses SSL for the connection or not.

can you add notification sound to razorgmail pls.

sure; if i have time;

i didn't noticed that pop3mailcore will save username and password to the theme file,
but it encoded to some other characters;
also it saves them without any confirmation in setting window or any notification
so be aware of that, and don't share your theme file with anyone else

and another thing that i didn't noticed was that it will reload previous mailboxes on restart
so i decided to make a new release:

Hey Guys, I noticed an error in the "Email Account Settings", i think the error is in the pop3mailcore itself
cause i checked and the POP3 Server name for yahoo is "pop.mail.yahoo.com" but the "Email Account Settings" shows ".cn" at the end.

don't know if that's the issue, just thought maybe its something silly like a typo.

I tried it, but doesn't work either, nor does Hotmail, is Gmail the only one working?

Guys the core's name is "GMail" so works ONLY for GMail!

For the rest is required a script code..

yahoo.cn means yahoo for china
.cn is for chinese websites

i see that the server selection list is editable (you can type there)
maybe you can use your url there to work,
but i didn't tested it out



they're talking about pop3mailcore not gmailcore


there are 2 mail cores in xwidget:

pop3mailcore: can access gmail and some other mail servers, but have some less tags
gmailcore: can only access gmail server, but it have more tags to be used
