Please, stop upgrading us via Download.com. If there's a new update, link us to a page that has download URL for existing users. Don't make us nav to Download.com The next time I am given a Download.com link in order to update XWidget I will just uninstall XWidget. There are few web sites as evil on the Internet as Download.com Believe me, I used to be an independent software developer distributing my apps on Download.com. I understand the marketing advantage of eyeballs there. Do that for new users, don't punish existing users. Download.com has changed. While doing an update of XWidget today I was prompted to approve junkware, with a VERY long pause between each Decline, not twice, not three times but about SIX TIMES!! And even after declining them all, after XWidgets completed, I was prompted AGAIN to approve junkware, with no titlebar or any warning, it was all meticulously arranged to look like YOUR product. Not once, but TWICE!! @XWidget, if you can reassure me you'll stop using Download.com, I'll send you $10, just give me a PayPal link. (Mind you, it won't be till May 1.) I hardly even use your product, I'm just fuming mad at Download.com and I'm mad at the people who make the software I choose to install on my computer being so callous as to use Download.com. |

Hi stimpy77, Thanks for your suggestion, I had change the main download link from download.com to OneDrive. But I think we still need a more stable download servers... I am sorry for that,this is because: 1. OneDrive only a NetDisk, It can not guarantee that everyone can download sucessfully and quickly. and XWidget taked a large download traffic, the OneDrive account maybe stopped at any time. So I think we need a more stable download servers. In fact, we can download XWidget from the download.com by "Direct link" without the Download.com Installer Attachment: direct download.jpg [ 213.35 KiB | Viewed 4712 times ] 2. A few days ago some users report a problem: Chrome false positives and will prevent users from downloading "xwidget_setup.exe" from xwidget.com ,So I change the main download link to Download.com Temporarily and Request google/chrome to renew. Fortunately this issue is resolved. |
