I understand in xwidget are using IE (shtml panel). Would not it be used to sew Chromium!? I certainly understand the size of the program significantly increased. But not any more opportunities if he will? |

20 megabytes is a drop in the bucket in terms of storage these days, and the benefits of adding chromium are many. For one thing, right now HTML5 widgets don't work well in the HTMLpanel because of the IE backend, for another any links clicked in the panel spawn IE windows, and I hate running IE windows because of the relative lack of security on them. I'd rather lose 20 megs of hard drive out of the gigabytes available these days to get more features in the panel. Alternatively, is there a way to make HTML panel spawn links in the system's default browser instead of IE? |

Update to IE 11, most HTML widgets will work... Staying behind 2 releases and complaining doesn't work |

I'm on IE 11, running win 8.1, dunno where you got the idea I was on IE9 from. |

The php of the XWidget forum/internet pages-download allows max file size for download <10Mb. The fact is not the 20Mb space that you are talking about in the hard disk. This is the default settings of the XWidget's forum internet configuration. Also the small file sizes are better for the program. I don't understand the reason why increase a lot the file size of the widgets and complicate the things.. The negative comes from the microsoft that every time give us new versions that are not fully compatible with the prev versions and programs! Also do not forget that the official xwidget gallery is not the only way to dl widgets. You have this forum, the chinese forum, and the Deviantart! And for me the alternative ways are better because you can find a LOT more widgets to download. So not a big deal for who has problems with downloading with IE.. |
