Running the latest and greatest Android OS. When I use XWidget it puts a notification icon in the status bar that looks like a heartbeat pulse. I don't recall this ever showing up in earlier versions. I have tried to turn this off but nothing works (including turning off XWidget notifications entirely). Any ideas? Thanks. |

Hello jdsabin1. You need to pull down the notification panel, long touch on the XWidget notification msg and disable it from the next system's screen. The notification icon is added from the v1.3.0 version as a way to resolve the app's time/weather delay and freezing from the Android OS. So it's not something new and we have no reports about a remaining XW icon in the notification bar. I think that the reason is the update to beta/apha or whatever 8.0 rom. Αs I have seen from videos on YouTube, the programmers there they have changed more the notifications engine. Remember that there is no official Oreo rom yet, and sincerely I don't think that Tony has tested it to that rom. I will pass your report to the dev though.. Thank you |

Thanks for your fast response. It's definitely new in the latest version of Android as I have turned off notifications from XWidget itself as well as the Android System settings and the icon is still there. I make the assumption this is intentional from the Google devs as if an app is 'running in the background' you can't get it off (and there are a lot of threads about this all over the net). |
