I had been looking for this since I had a similar thing in Yahoo! Gadgets before it shut down. So I created one, based on a widget called FFC LoveWhite (http://jandeath.deviantart.com/gallery/ ... 5#/d4ihha5). Attached are some screenshots. The left most white space flips the player into large mode, which displays the Title, Artist and Remaining Time along with a slider to seek the position of music. Following which are standard play/pause buttons and a volume control. The volume button sets the volume to max, if not already. If it is already maximum, it mutes it. If it is already muted, it unmutes it and sets it to maximum. The rightmost button launches iTunes. I do not yet know how to modify it for other players. Kindly report bugs and post suggestions.

@Nutu The widget suddenly stopped working with iTunes. I did not update anything. It works fine with Windows Media Player. Do you have any ideas how it could be fixed? Perhaps iTunes responds to a different player core. Can you test it for me? |

I have tried using 7 (seven) players! None work except Windows Media Player. While yesterday iTunes was working. How is this possible? I didn't even touch the widget. |

I will see what I can do, okay? I'll try fixing it for you. EDIT: iTunes did an internal update, removing the compatibility with external music players, at least that's what I can tell you for now. |

Wow, Nutu! You really are amazing. Thanks for your quick reply. But I have not yet updated iTunes. And I did try with many other players, to no avail. Can you think of anything else? EDIT : The path in my system is "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" |

Okay, do the following: In your widget's directory (Default "C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\xwidget\Widgets\itunes") create a shortcut that leads to "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" and name it iTunes.exe then run the widget I'm sending you. It should open the shortcut and iTunes should appear. EDIT: Thanks, but I'm not amazing ^////^ I'm just really active on the forums and I like helping people.

Yes, iTunes opens through your way, (thanks) but the artist, the title and the time remaining are still not visible in the back side of the widget. That is the part I meant to fix. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. And yes, you are awesome. |

Can you look at the following widget and pinpoint my problem? This one works for sure, when you right click and tell it to use iTunes as a player. Maybe I need to do that. http://fengenzus.deviantart.com/art/Jsk ... 4116&qo=25 |

I can't find the reason why it doesn't work, probably due to the incompatibility of the WMP core and iTunes. My recommendation would be that you should make it WMA-compatible. If you need help with that, just tell me. |

Add a button/menu item, select the core to mediaplayercore (or whatever is the core's name) and in the onclick area put !ShowSetting. |

Thank you c: By the way, are you interested in combining up with Nutu' Designs? Your widgets will be copyrighted then and we can share our ideas and come up with something legendary. What do you think about that? |

What do you mean by "WMA Compatible"? Does that mean I can modify the core to make it compatible with any player I want? |

What do you think about that? Please elaborate further, I do not understand. My widgets aren't that good, why would I want to copyright them? |

Rejjy13 wrote: What do you mean by "WMA Compatible"? Does that mean I can modify the core to make it compatible with any player I want? The core is compatible with all the players listed in the list when you set the core, so it is automatically compatible. You just need to add another menu item (I.e. Open Music), select the core to the mediaplayercore and at the OnClick even add: !OpenAddSongDialog And yes, your widgets are awesome. I am totally interested in sharing my ideas with you, and even come up with something that the two of us made. For example, I would say I'm good at visual designs and scripting, yet you're good at the widget alignment and stuff. So, yeah... I think that's enough. xD |

Say I use another (unknown) player called Winyl. How would that work with this core? About Nutu Designs, I am a mere student in last year of high school. And I have my college entrances coming next year which requires a lot of my time studying. If you think that the task won't get in my way of studying, I'm in. |

If the player Winyl is in the settings, yes, it does. And the task is not getting in the way of studying in any way. I'm in high-school as well, so I study too. I like to call myself a Freestyle Programmer. All the work I do is in my free time. |
